Museums and heritage

West Suffolk boasts numerous fascinating museums and heritage sites

West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village is one of England's great archaeological sites, with an extensive indoor museum and a stunning recreation of an Anglo-Saxon village.

Moyse’s Hall Museum is a 12th century building housing eclectic collections and exhibitions. You will discover artefacts from local history, find prison paraphernalia and see ever changing exhibitions including the popular annual Sci-Fi & Action Exhibition.

And then there’s the Suffolk Regiment Museum, Ickworth National Trust, St Edmundsbury Cathedral, and Newmarket's National Horse Racing Museum to explore!

West Suffolk’s museums and heritage sites host events for all ages each year, from themed craft workshops to historical re-enactments. You can attend historical talks and lectures, or bring the family to the hugely popular annual Dragon Fest and Lord of the Rings themed Ring Quest... Visit our What’s On page to find out more.
