Parks and gardens

West Suffolk Council logoCOVID-19 update – Parks and open spaces

Following the latest Government and health instructions (23 March) parks are being kept open so people can exercise once a day.

Please enjoy the park, but these must not be gatherings of more than two people unless they are people living in your home – households can exercise together. Please make sure you keep your distance from others – at least 2 metres apart from any outside your household.

Any playgrounds in our parks have been closed following Government guidance.

Keeping physically and mentally healthy is important – please use our parks responsibly to help you and your family with this. Thank you for your continued support.

West Suffolk is lucky to have an abundance of parks, gardens and open spaces.

From the beautiful floral displays and abbey ruins of Bury St Edmunds’ Abbey Gardens, to the nature-rich arboretum and woodland trails of Brandon Country Park, there is so much to explore. Take in the fresh air at Nowton Park, East Town Park, West Stow Country Park and many more green spaces across the area.

West Suffolk parks host events for all ages each year, from den building sessions for kids, to foraging and wild skills events for grown-ups, and much more besides… Visit our What’s On page to find out more.
