‘A truly entertaining speaker’. ‘Awe inspiring’. Just a couple of the plaudits for Ashley’s last appearance at the festival. He is a speaker not be missed.
Set across one weekend this is the exhilarating story of a man of mixed heritage living on the Irish Border as he tries to stay positive, reconnect with his children and, maybe, find his birth mother.
Ashley’s flair for poetic rhythm and linguistic verve has produced a poignant, tender novel.
Ashley, a former English teacher has a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of East Anglia and has published a number of works including The 392 and Wild East, overall winner of the East Anglian Book Awards 2024 and the Young Adult winner of the Diverse Book Awards 2025.
He grew up in London but now lives in Norwich.
