Exploring Shakespeare A Director’s Notes from the Rehearsal Room with Paul Venables, Lavenham Village Hall Exploring Shakespeare takes us into the rehearsal room, covering essential aspects of any Shakespeare production from understanding the world of the play, to costume and set design, handling soliloquies and creating characters. Bill Alexander & Janet Suzman provide a fascinating insight into what goes on behind the scenes. Bill Alexander is a British Theatre Director best known for his work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and Birmingham Repertory Theatre. His landmark productions of Richard 111 with Anthony Sher and The Merry Wives of Windsor both won him Olivier Awards. Janet Suzman has played most Shakespearean heroines, particularly with the Royal Shakespeare Company, including a definitive performance of Cleopatra. She is the author of Acting with Shakespeare and is an Honorary Fellow of the Shakespeare Institute. Paul Venables played leading roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company and on television and radio. He now plays Jakob in The Archers and practises as a psychotherapist. Booking opens 10am 30th August.
