Take part in a relaxing evening yoga session in the unique setting of the Abbey ruins in the Abbey Gardens, Bury St Edmunds.
Part of the Abbey 1000 celebrations, these evening sessions offer a unique opportunity to take part in a yoga practice in the ruins of the Abbey church.
These sessions are suitable for all abilities, and will include a combination of movement, breathing exercises and meditation.
Each session will have a specific, and universally applicable, spiritual focus based on one of the five yamas from the ancient Yoga teachings. These five are:
- non-harm
- truthfulness
- non-stealing
- moderation or right use of energy
- non-greed

- Sessions will last 1 hour
- Meet next to the crypt in the Abbey Gardens
- Over 18s only
- Participants must register in advance and sign a waiver
Participants should bring:
- A yoga mat if they have one, or a towel or blanket if they don’t have a mat
- A drink
- A warm jumper or fleece (just in case)
The sessions are weather dependent.
