Event details

A tour inspired by our work with Horrible Histories author, Terry Deary, and all the grotty stories he created for our collections.

Part of the fun activities we’re creating to support your home-learning this summer.

• Smell horrible medieval boils, toilets tanner’s pits and more!
• Handle horrible trade tools, weapons and torture items
• Hear some of the most grotty stories from Bury St Edmunds’ history
• All in a FAMILY FRIENDLY way of course!

Staff in PPE, hand-sanitising points and handling cleaned before the tour. One household or ‘family bubble’ per tour. ‘Behind closed doors’ evening tours available upon request at an increased admission if desired for extra social distancing.

Can be tailored for all ages, including adult.
