Come and join us in the lovely historic village of Lavenham for the perfect start to your Christmas.
A three-day traditional extravaganza of festive fun, food and fizz, entertainment, Dickensian dressing-up, children's fairground, fifty stalls and attractions for all the family.
We start off at 5.30pm on Friday with the arrival of Father Christmas and the lighting of the Christmas tree in the Marketplace, followed by non-stop entertainment and late-night shopping throughout the village.
Children can meet Father Christmas and his Elves in his grotto, the popular Big Wheel will be action (great for enjoying a bird's-eye view of Lavenham), enjoy a Hog Roast and other delicious hot foods as you stroll around, you can prop up the pop-up wine bar, then shop at more than 50 stalls selling a wonderful variety of artisan food, local meats and wine, mulled wine, chocolate, cheese, cakes, Christmas puddings, handcrafted silver and jewellery, clothes, toys, books, Christmas wreaths, garlands and trees and much more.
We will be dressing up Dickensian style so come along and join in the fashion fun. There will be a prize for Best Costume, and also a prize for the Best Dressed Dickensian shop window.
Entertainment includes Sudbury-based singer/musician/composer Ben Smith, the fabulous D'Ukes Ukulele Band, Donimo the Jester Magician with his comical invisible dog, singer Serena Grant, traditional Christmas songs and carols performed by the Sudbury Choral Society, and Morris Dancing and a how-to-do-it workshop from Stowmarket's Danegeld Morris Men and Women.
Don't miss out on buying tickets for our Giant Raffle with fantastic prizes, including overnight stays in some of our unique holiday cottages, beauty treatments, shopping vouchers, local wine and food packages and many yet-to-be revealed prizes.
The three day programme also includes a guided lantern tour of Lavenham on Saturday - roll up for folklore stories of traditions, legend and ghost tales, ending up with mulled wine and mince pies at The Swan hotel. Our famous Little Hall, in the Marketplace, will be the venue for the sale of handmade ceramics, jewellery, crafts and textiles made by Potters and Friends.
All the village shops, restaurants, tea shops, pubs and hotels will be entering into the Christmas spirit with special offers and attractions.
Parking is available, free of charge. There will be attendants on duty to help with parking and enquiries.
The stalls and entertainers are under cover of marquees, so whatever the weather Lavenham will give you a warm welcome!
