Dickie and Edwina: The Lives and Loves of the Mountbattens.

Earl Mountbatten of Burma is one of the major British historical figures of the twentieth century.

With a career which included Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in South East Asia, the last Viceroy and first Governor General of India, and as a member of the royal family and mentor of Prince Philip and Prince Charles his power and influence touched the history of the United Kingdom at many points. His wife Edwina was the richest heiress in the world, and this is the first joint biography providing a dual portrait of two of the most glamorous figures of their time.

Andrew will be in conversation with William Evans who worked for ten years as Head of Lord Mountbatten’s Naval Retinue. His duties took him to varied and exotic corners of the world, attending our greatest ceremonies of state, rubbing shoulders with kings, princes and prime ministers, maharajas and film magnates. He was personal valet to Mountbatten’s eminent guests and has many wonderful and humorous stories to tell.
