Event details

With Catherine Russell as Highsmith, this taut cat-and-mouse thriller "creeps up on you and then has you on the edge of your seat" (The Sunday Telegraph). The mountains are silent. The stranger is not what he seems.

A gripping, psychological thriller. 1995. The Swiss Alps.

Patricia Highsmith, author of The Talented Mr Ripley, has retreated from the world. Surrounded by her collection of literature and antique weaponry, she finds solace in her cats, her cigarettes, and the silence of the mountains. The queen of the thriller has nothing left to prove.

When a polished young man sent by her New York publisher arrives at her door, he appears to have one purpose: to persuade Patricia to write the final instalment of her best-selling Ripley series. The last outing for fiction’s most seductive and charming manipulator - Tom Ripley. But as day breaks over the mountains, it becomes clear that the charming stranger is set on a far more sinister mission…

A Theatre Royal production inspired by the life of Patricia Highsmith, written by Joanna Murray-Smith. Sponsored by Chassis Cab-DAF.
