Lavenham Literary Festival - Nick Wallis

The Great Post Office Cover-Up tells the story behind the greatest scandal of our time at Lavenham Village Hall.

Between 2000 and 2014 over 900 Post Office Branch Managers were dragged through the courts over alleged financial discrepancies.

Nick’s book The Great Post Office Scandal lifted the lid on the appalling treatment of innocent victims. His sequel The Great Post Office Cover-Up chronicles the subsequent public inquiry, the institutional cover-up, and the immense human toll of the scandal.

Nick will be in conversation with Evan Davis who is best known for his long-running role as the presenter of Dragons' Den on BBC and as the host of the PM programme on BBC Radio 4. This session will give a deep insight into the way in which one our oldest institutions wrongly accused its employees of embezzlement.
