Join West Suffolk Council on Sunday 21 June from 11am to 4pm as we come together to celebrate everything that makes Suffolk and, in particular, West Suffolk special.
This lively community event in the Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds marks Suffolk Day with a fantastic mix of local culture, history, music, and family-friendly activities.
Whether you’re a long-time resident or visiting the area, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the county’s heritage, meet local organisations and spend a relaxed summer day with friends and family.
Throughout the day there will be plenty to see and do. Younger visitors can get creative by making mini scarecrows with Crafty Foxes, while thrill-seekers can test their skills on the Abbeycroft Leisure climbing wall. History will come to life with an Anglo-Saxon re-enactment group offering a glimpse into the region’s early past, and delicious food will be available. Enjoy talks from Bury St Edmunds Tour Guides and rides around the gardens with Bury St Edmunds Rickshaw. There will be musical performances on stage including Station 366 (performing American Swing numbers from the 1940s) and morris dancing by the Abbey Gate.
Visitors can explore a wide range of stalls hosted by local organisations and community groups, offering information, activities and the chance to discover more about the people and places that make West Suffolk unique.
