Join Military Historian Paul Hunt as he brings this pivotal chapter in history to life through powerful accounts of brutal battles, extraordinary events and the personal stories of men who fought till their last breath in what was called the war to end all wars.

Discover genuine artifacts and personal items from those who witnessed one of the deadliest conflicts in history. Among them is the story of Norfolk's James Nourse, who's remarkable bravery under horrendous conditions at the Somme took him to hell and back, earning him the military medal.

Join The Guildhall this Remembrance Day as we honour the brave souls who gave their lives for the world we know today.

Our World War Two ROC Operations Room will also be open for you to explore on the day between 11am - 3pm. Admission to the Ops Room is free.

Office opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10am - 4pm. The venue is open to the public during scheduled events only, which will be advertised on the Bury St Edmunds Guildhall website.
