Come and create your own masterpiece of our magnificent Cathedral Tower, celebrating its 20th anniversary!
St Edmundsbury Cathedral is delighted to work in partnership with The Cathedral's Art Club group to present Art on the Garth. Whether you have never picked up a paintbrush before, or are a descendant of Picasso, this event caters to all ages and abilities
The morning session, for new artists, between 10am -12pm, is at a cost of £10 per person (from ages 13+). The charge will cover a blank canvas and a selection of paints. Members of our Cathedral Art Group will be on hand to give advice and offer help if needed. During this session, your children (ages 12 and under), can join in too, by creating their own art overseen by our Learning Hub Team. It is important that you book free tickets for your children. All materials and paints will be provided.
The afternoon session, aimed at established artists, between 1pm - 3pm, is entry by donation. As local artists, the expectation is that you know what you like to create your art with, so please bring any materials and tools that you need. A table and chair will be provided. Easels will also be available to use.
Times: 10am - 12pm & 1pm - 3pm
Tickets: 10am session - £10 & under 13s free, 1pm session - entry by donation
Booking: Essential - via the
Eventbrite website.
Venue: St Edmundsbury Cathedral

In the event of poor weather, a decision will be made by The Cathedral team on Tuesday 5 August as to whether the event can go ahead, as the plan is to be based outside on our Cathedral Garth, which has no cover. With this in mind, it is essential to book a place, so we are able to communicate any changes to the programme. A full refund will be issued to all if this is the case.
