Iceni Botanical Art Workshop at the Historical Bury St Edmunds Guildhall
Rosemary Dodgson, a professional artist based in Cambridge, brings her experience from leading numerous workshops to this inspiring day focused on the use of watercolour paint to create your own plant portraits.
Using a variety of plant materials, you’ll be guided in creating your own botanical portraits—whether it’s a single leaf or a more detailed composition.
The day includes demonstrations of key techniques such as wet-in-wet, dry brush, and layering, alongside one-to-one tuition tailored to each participant's goals.
Whether you're refining your skills, exploring new methods, or returning to painting after a break, the workshop is designed to meet you where you are.
You’ll have the chance to experiment with different techniques, better understand how watercolour pigments behave, and explore solutions to common challenges. Above all, the aim is to enjoy the creative process in a supportive and relaxed environment, rediscovering the joy of painting together.
